It’s been a while…
My creativity, if I can pretentiously call it that, tends to come in fits and starts. I’m not alone in this. There’s plenty of stories of proper writers, comedians, musicians, and entertainers in general who aren’t great with deadlines, discipline or regularity and a lot of them didn’t have day jobs to hold down.
On top of that, we’ve been moving house, dealing with some illness, celebrating birthdays, and various other things which have kept me from the keyboard, but hey, I missed you.
It hit me just how long it’s been when watching the Blu Ray of Those Who Wish Me Dead, which I reviewed after seeing it at the cinema back in May. Blu Ray? Who buys Blu Rays in 2021?
Well, I’ve treated myself to a 4K Blu Ray player as the source of my home cinema system. It’s spectacular and it’s kicked up a few things in my head, like:
· Physical media in 2021 – why bother?
· ‘Best’ films/favourite films
· Sequels
So, I’m going to dump some posts out over the next few days, a couple of reviews I’ve done since we last spoke and some scribbles on the above.
In the meantime, I need to ask a favour.
If you like what you find here, would you mind sharing it? I do need to create more posts, that’s true, and I have some pretty good ideas I’m mulling, but supply relies on demand.
I am blown away that anyone reads my stuff, let alone the number of subscribers I got on Fisk Film, but the site always needs more.
I’m not on social media. I rely entirely on readers sharing my content. I might go into the reasons I’m not on social media one day, although this is a good start.
So, although you’ve no doubt heard it a million times on a million sites, please share and subscribe. Oh, and talking of sharing, shout out to my buddy’s WordPress site, a mix of classic and modern movie reviews.
