So, I started writing a post well over a month ago and it ballooned and got out of hand. The world is so far past madness now, that I barely know where to start. I’m struggling a wee bit. So are a lot of us.
The review I promised you of Top Gun: Maverick back in June has turned into an extended rant at the state of the world. I want to be careful not to write something depressing, I don’t want to add to the tidal wave of effluent flowing through our daily discourse. But, I want to confront it… confrontation trumps consolation every damn time. So, I will carry on with it, but I need to give it some thought.
In the meantime, I want content. If you’re a reader of the site and have something to say, I want to see it, and I may well want to publish it. Everything considered. The editorial policy is simple: it’s my site so I have the final say, but I promise to work with you collaboratively. Nothing offensive, no hate, but rage is fine, and don’t be offended by quality control and grammar checks. All things considered, visual, audio as well as writing.

- Better Call Saul is proving a masterclass in how to make a TV series… more than a worthy successor to Breaking Bad and rumours now that we’re going to get something about Hank, the DEA agent and brother-in-law from the parent series. Can’t wait.
- Just got my first Raspberry Pi and built a network-level ad-blocker using the awesome (and eye-wateringly simple) Pi Hole. They’ll be getting a donation, it’s brilliant.
- The James Webb telescope … just … wow.
- The Lionesses tonight … to paraphrase Kevin Keegan from many years ago, “I would LOVE IT if they brought it home before the boys, LOVE IT!”
- Charlotte Laws and Anonymous, restoring some of my increasingly limited faith in humanity after plumbing the depths in The Most Hated Man on the Internet on Netflix.
- Oh, and the new Beyonce album is frigging brilliant.
